Is your website mobile friendly and responsive?
Is your website mobile friendly and responsive? If not, you’re going to want it to be. Google is changing how it is indexing websites based on the fact that there are more searches being done with mobile phones than websites now. As such, according to Google, “our algorithms will eventually primarily use the mobile version of a site’s content to rank pages from that site, to understand structured data, and to show snippets from those pages in our results.”
That’s great but what does that mean to you?
Well, what it means is that Google will be using that mobile content to index your website and that will figure in how websites list and rank for search results. If your website can’t be viewed on tablet or mobile phone, you’re going to take a dip in where you rank.
You don’t have to have a mobile responsive website but why wouldn’t you? If the majority of people use their phones to make a web search, you are cutting yourself off from a large pool of customers. If you want to rank competitively with Google, make sure your website is mobile responsive to whatever device it is being viewed from. With this step, you can make sure your website and business stay current with the trends.
